Twice per year SewMamaSew.com hosts a Giveaway Day. A whole bunch of bloggers get giveaways together, and SewMamaSew compiles a big list. Or in this case, there are multiple lists for different categories. And this giveaway day is actually a giveaway week! You’ll want to head over there to find all the other give aways! But not yet….
Today, I have 4 patterns to give away. All of them are uncut. Some are extras that I won’t use, some are from Sewing Summit swag, and one is a pattern I bought forever ago and have never managed to make. But it’s so cute I think someone should try it out.
The first is a much sought after copy of Simplicity 3835 Built By Wendy top. I bought it as an extra ages ago when I had a very lucky day! It’s the smaller size range from size 4-12. I have hunted high and low for a second copy in the larger size, but have not found it.
Next up are two patterns left from my Sewing Summit swag. I know that I will not have occasion to make either of these, so I’m offering them up to someone with a little girl of their own to sew for.
One is an The Maddie Bee apron style top from Brassy Apple. So cute. (Sizes 2 – 7)
And the other is a modkid pattern… emma. An adorable dress with lots of layers that reminds me of a butterfly costume for some reason. (Sizes 2T – 7)
And finally, The old quilting pattern that I never got to, but someone should! It would be an adorable wall hanging in a newborn’s nursery. It’s the first block from the Giraffic Park series quilt by McKenna Ryan called “Tippy Top“. And in my humble opinion the cutest block from the series… but I have a thing for giraffes.
I’m going to give away each pattern as a separate prize, so I will randomly draw 4 winners after December 16 (Friday), 2011 at 7pm CST. All you have to do to enter is leave me a comment telling me what one of your favorite blogs is and why. (For a second entry, leave another comment telling me one way I can improve my blog.)
First name drawn will get to choose which pattern they want, then the 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Feel free to leave your first choice in your comment. And this one is open to everyone. Even overseas.

My favourite blog…oh, there are so many that are so lovely… I go back to ‘Craftiness Is Not Optional’ quite a bit because she does lots of tutorials for clothing for her daughter (who happens to be about the same age as my daughter!) and I like that I’m learning to sew without a pattern… xo

I read a lot of crafty blogs but I think I’d have to say the dog-focused “Two Pitties in the City” is one of my favorites. They’re local to me so I get the added bonus of learning all about doggy activities in my area.

I have several blogs that are my favorites but among them are Fluffy Sheep Quilting and kiss kiss Quilt both are great blogs.
I have quite a few favourites but Cinderberry Stitches and Sarah Jane Studios are my current favourites as I have a 16 month old daughter and they are full of girly child friendly inspirations.
Maybe you could put a short version of your profile info and a picture in one of the side columns on your blog home page. It can be helpful for new people visiting to start getting to know you.

I might suggest making your middle column wider to balance the look more & make it easier to view the important stuff. But apart from that it is nice & clean and nice looking :)

One of my favorite blogs is Wild Olive-she has the cutest embroidery patterns and often has free patterns and tutorials for both embroidery and for stuff to embroider like mug rugs. And she’s funny and nice.

Even though it’s different from what I normally choose (shiny happy blogs with tutorials and fun projects), I think my favorite is My Cozy Little Whimsy Nook by Marmeecraft. She creates this magical world for herself and it’s just peaceful to see what she’s up to! (Other than that – Grosgrainfabulous, especially when she’s not pregnant and has more time to do stuff!) (These are also the only two blogs I keep in my feed reader even though they don’t include the full posts in the feed. You have to be super-fabulous to get me to keep you that way!) A close third: IkatBag by LiEr, as she’s got great projects and pictures.
